I’ve worked in many different areas of epidemiology over the years. This has had advantages and disadvantages. It’s probably a necessary consequence of working in a very small country. When I came back to Ireland, in 1997, we had enough trained epidemiologists to fill a rather small dinner party. Matters are better now, and we’d fill a reasonably sized restaurant if we all went out together.
